SIG's new Leaf Guard saves maintenance costs

SIG's new Leaf Guard saves maintenance costs

SIG Roofline and Building Products (SIG R&BP) have supplied Rok York with their new Leaf Guard product. Rok York, part of Rok Plc, is responsible for fitting the first SIG Leaf Guard to an existing building in York, which houses a credit card protection company.

Previously, the company have paid for costly regular maintenance to have their gutters cleaned and unblocked.  SIG Roofline and Building Products, part of SIG Plc, are supplying their domed Leaf Guard to overcome these problems and eliminate future maintenance costs.  Most conventional leaf guards are flat, meaning they sit uncomfortably in the gutter and allow blockages to accumulate from wet leaves.  However, SIG R&BP's domed product provides a solution to this.  It sits easily in the gutter and can be installed in 4 simple steps.  The dynamics of this leaf guard also mean that the risk of blockages of any kind is completely removed, as leaves will wash off the guard, still allowing water to enter the gutters.  The ends of the tubes are also closed off, preventing birds from nesting or leaves from blowing inside them.

Rok Plc is one of the UK's leading providers of building, development and maintenance services, branded as the 'Nation's Local Builder™'.  Rok York was formed at the end of 2007, so this installation also marks the start of the Rok York Maintenance business.  They strive to offer the best solutions to the communities in which they live and work, which explains why SIG's innovative and end-user friendly leaf guard fits in with their business ethic.

Installation is already underway on this project and is expected to be completed by the end of August this year.  Martin Gold, Maintenance Team Leader, Rok York, commented,

"I have used several similar products in the past, however with its curved design this Leaf Guard performs better than the conventional flat guards on the market"
